I had it put in a setting the day after I received it, and then picked up the finished ring and left for California a few days later - I am now in Arizona. Yes we had no problem with the shipping. It showed up in time for my surprise proposal on her birthday which was Sunday August 26th. I've been looking at diamonds for several years now and have a better idea than most consumers about quality. When I set eyes on the engagement ring for the first time I was absolutely stunned at the fire and sparkle of the stone. It seemed to be able to reflect more light than was present in the room.
 
Julie of course was completely surprised and speechless when I presented the ring to her. We've looked at many diamonds together and I think because of that she had reached a point where she didn't believe that she would ever get one. Of course this all served to make the proposal much more meaningful to her. And nothing less than the beautiful diamond you provided to us would have been appropriate for her. The ring shimmers on her finger almost as if it was meant for her and is picking up some metaphysical energy which it radiates. Everyone who has seen the stone is very impressed with it...possibly out of politeness to some degree but really I think the excellence of the diamond is self-evident. By comparison, her friends have to concede to the obvious that her ring is of much greater quality than theirs. We are extremely happy with the diamond ring and I am very pleased with the service that I received from you. I couldn't be happier with the whole process from choosing the stone to placing it on her finger.  And she has been on Cloud 9 for a month now, spending long periods of time just gazing at her beautiful ring.

Hi Ron, Thanks for your help again. As promised here are some pictures of the finished product. Please excuse the photo’s as my camera has a fairly poor macro function. Obviously the pictures don’t do the diamond nor the ring justice.
 
I used a local jeweller whom I have had multiple recommendations from. They worked with me to do my own design for the setting.
 
Anyway I have proposed and my new fiancée couldn’t be happier with the ring and the diamond. She says she has never seen a diamond so clear and beautiful before. Then again.. neither have I.

Just wanted to say thanks again. My fiance loved the ring ...and all her friends are jealous. I flew out and surprised her. I had her sister take her to a really nice restaurant and then I called her on her cell. She thought I was at home in Virginia when I was really right around the corner. I asked her how the restaurant was. She told me she hadn't eaten yet. I asked her how she like the flowers. (I picked up a dozen purple tulips - her favorite and had then on the table.) She chuckled because she had noticed that no one else's table had flowers. Then I asked her to marry me as I walked in the door in front of her with the ring. I have never seen her speechless before but she was. She didn't know whether to keep talking to me on the phone or not. Everyone around us in the restaurant started goading her to say yes...which she did. We had a great dinner and then took a carriage ride around downtown Indianapolis. Thanks again for all your help.
